Krystkowiak Headed to U. of Utah?

ESPN Radio in Salt Lake City is reporting that Nets assistant Larry Krystkowiak could be named head basketball coach at the University of Utah within the next 24 to 48 hours.

"Krystkowiak has met with Dr. Chris Hill (Utah's athletic director) and Krystkowiak believes he is a leading candidate to be the next Head Coach at Utah," reports Bill Riley of ESPN 700.

Prior to joining the Bucks, first as an assistant and then head coach, Krystkowiak had been head coach at his alma mater, the University of Montana. Krystkowiak, who played nine seasons in the NBA, has worked with Nets big men. He lives in San Diego in the off-season.

Avery Johnson told beat reporters the Nets gave permission to U of Utah to interview Krystkowiak, adding, “He’s done a great job for us this year. If something were ever to happen for Larry, we’d hate to lose him. And I’ll leave it right there.”
