Quinton Ross, who arrived last June in the Yi Jianlian salary dump, has apparently played his last game as a Net. Ross has a herniated disc in his lower back, says Avery Johnson and his season is "probably over". With Sundiata Gaines on crutches with a fractured hip and Deron Williams and Damion James still out with a sore wrist (Williams) and foot (James), the Nets are down to 11 healthy bodies.
Ross, who averaged 1.6 points and 0.8 rebounds, is on a veterans minimum contract. The Nets could, if they wanted, waive Ross and sign another player to either a 10-day contract or even a veterans' minimum deal.
