Ben Uzoh, his job usurped by Sundiata Gaines, has been assigned to the Springfield Armor so he can get some playing time as the season winds down. With the acquisition of all-Star Deron Williams and Gaines' strong play, there were few minutes available for Uzoh, an undrafted senior out of Tulsa.
The 6-foot-3 guard, has played in 32 games for the Nets this season while putting up averages of 3.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He's shot 41 percent from the field.
Uzoh had a career-high with 18 points (6-8 FGs) and five rebounds in 22 minutes against the Rockets on February 26, but most of those came long after the game was decided.
Said Uzoh: “I feel like I’ve been doing a good job here, but i think they want to get me playing, just to showcase myself and get me better, because I can’t get better if I don’t have game-like reps and things like that. I think we’re on the same page as far as seeing me continue to grow.”
