The Nets landed early Tuesday at London's Heathrow Airport, with three days off before they play again. The games, both "home" games vs the Raptors, will be played at 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday and Saturday. The team will have Tuesday off, then practice Wednesday and Thursday, their first since the trades that brought them Deron Williams, Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric. Gadzuric is with the team, despite reports he was being bought out.
Gary Sussman tweets "The Hump to blog from London on ESPN.com...NBA TV in the process of taping '24 Hours with D Will'". NBA TV and YES will carry both games live.
And since the games will be home games, Prudential on the Thames, aka the O2 Arena, will feature the Nets Dancers, Sly the Nets team mascot, the Dunkin Divas and Team Hype. Herb Turetzky will score his 1,132nd Nets game and Sussman will be behind the mike to handle introductions and in-game announcements. Marco G has been left behind in New Jersey.
There will be NBA Cares basketball clinics, a coaching clinic, a Sprite 3-on-3 tournament, Foot Locker Three-Point contest and appearances from NBA legends as well. Mikhail Prokhorov and a large contingent of Russians are expected as well.
