Now that Carmelo Anthony has taken sides, the next big battle between the Nets and Knicks could be the NBA All-Star Game, possibly in 2014. With the Nets likely to move into Barclays Center in 2012-2013 and the Knicks renovating the Garden through that season as well, 2014 is probably the earliest the NBA would put the Game in New York.
Moreover, that would be the same week that Super Bowl XLVIII is played in the Meadowlands. But who's New York? Barry Janoff writes David Stern might want to reward either team for its big ticket investments, although Mikhail Prokhorov might have extra leverage because of his status as the league's first international owner.
