If Billy King, Avery Johnson and Mikhail Prokhorov have their way, Derrick Favors played his last game in a Nets uniform Friday night. The league's youngest player is tabbed as the key piece, along with Devin Harris, in the deal that would bring Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey. Then again, he could be a Nets fixture for years.
Favors scored 9 points on 4-for-6 shooting, but didn't grab a rebound in 17 minutes of action. In contrast, DeMarcus Cousins had 33 and 14 and Blake Griffin had 14 and 3 for the victorious rookies.
"I can’t control it. Whatever happens, happens," said Favors said of the trade rumor. "I can’t wait for it to be over with. It’s been happening since the beginning of the season. I’m just tired of hearing about it." Ironically, Anthony was on the opposite sideline as an assistant coach for the sophomores.
