The Nets have announced that Travis Outlaw has been cleared to begin contact in 10 days, meaning he will miss the first week of training camp. Outlaw broke his hand nine weeks ago and underwent surgery in Colorado. He was examined by team doctors, including a hand specialist.
Meanwhile, Marc Stein tweets that he is "hearing most likely scenario w/amnesty clause is teams getting seven-day window between Dec. 9-25 to use it or carry it into 2012 off-season."
Stein adds the specific seven day period has not been agreed to. It's among the many issues that players and owners are still negotiating, which is making teams hold on trade and free agency decisions.
