Avery Johnson does not have a complete roster yet while he and everyone else waits on the decisions of free agents around the NBA --a process slowed by the lack of a complete collective bargaining agreement. He does not lack for confidence, however. He never does.
"We have a lot of positives in our situation," Johnson told the beat writers at PNY Center. "We feel we have an elite point guard; we feel we have a center that’s top 5 in the NBA..'' Johnson also said Brook Lopez has gotten stronger.
As for specific free agents, Johnson steered clear of detailed discussions, noting "Everything's a possibility at this point.". He admitted he has yet to make any recruiting pitches that but likely would as the closer --"the Mariano Rivera"-- of the process.
