Caron Butler, one of the Nets' top targets at the 3, will visit the PNY Center Wednesday, part of a weeklong tour of potential landing spots. David Aldridge reports in a tweet, "Caron Butler itinerary: CHI Mon, LAC Mon night/Tue, SAS Tue, NJ Wed, DET Thursday if he hasn't made up his mind yet..."
Butler, a former All-Star, ruptured the patellar tendon in his right knee on New Year's Day. While he was ready to play for the Mavericks in the NBA Finals, Dallas declined to use him. He has reportedly expressed reservations about signing with the Nets because of the unsettled state of Deron Williams' contract.
Also visiting this week, Josh Howard. He'll travel to Washington, Chicago and San Antonio as well.
Meanwhile, Marc Spears tweets that the Nets will be one of seven teams talking to Jamal Crawford over the phone on Monday.
