When the Nets hired Dmitriy Materanskiy to be their director of international sales last month, they noted that he would focus on Russia, China...and Turkey. And that was before the Nets traded for Mehmet Okur, one of the country's most popular players, long a member of the "Twelve Giant Men", the Turkish national team.

Deron Williams, of course, had his number retired by Besiktas after less than 20 games and now, Bojan Bogdanovic is leading Fenerbahce of Istanbul, having finally tuned up his game. The Nets second round pick had 19 points in Fener's win over Bennet Cantu, a Euroleague opponent, hitting two crucial three's down the stretch. The win guaranteed Fener a place in the Euroleague Top 16, come tournament time this spring.
