The Nets have announced that Brook Lopez had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery on Friday morning.
The procedure was performed by foot specialist Dr. Martin O'Malley, who inserted a screw into Lopez's right foot to "speed up the healing process."
Lopez's rehab will begin in two weeks and the Nets say he's "expected to return to game action in 6-8 weeks." Six weeks from Friday is Feb. 3, at which point the Nets will have played 23 of their 66 games. Eight weeks from Friday is Feb. 17, at which point the Nets will have played 31 games.
The trade deadline is March 15.
