The Nets and Knicks concluded their two-game preseason with another ugly affair won by the Knicks on Wednesday night, this one at Madison Square Garden.
The game was close throughout, but the Knicks' subs took a six-point lead on the Nets' starters with less than four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. With the Nets' bench in after a timeout, the Knicks built the lead to nine and held on for a nine-point victory.
The Nets out-shot the Knicks from the field, but made just two of their 13 3-point attempts and 14 of their 28 free throws. They also committed another 21 turnovers.
Deron Williams led them with 21 points and seven assists. Brook Lopez and Damion James combined for 28 points and 18 rebounds, but Lopez committed six of the turnovers. Shelden Williams and Johan Petro grabbed 10 boards apiece. Anthony Morrow shot 0-for-10 from the field. Jordan Farmar was healthy, but didn't play.
When Kris Humphries entered the game in the second quarter, he was met with thunderous boos...the equal of a LeBron James reception.
