In an interview Friday, one of the Nets top off-season targets thinks he's likely done in Dallas. Tyson Chandler, the Mavericks' 7'1" center, thinks that under almost any CBA scenario, Mark Cuban won't be able to afford him. The Mavs are among the biggest luxury taxpayers in the NBA.
"With the collective bargaining agreement and some of the things that they're trying to enforce, it would basically prohibit me from coming back," Chandler told the "Ben and Skin Show" on 103.3 FM in Dallas.
Chandler, 29, averaged 10.1 ppg and 9.4 rpg last season as the Mavs won the NBA championship. Al Iannazzone reported last month that the Nets are targeting Chandler and Nene. Either are likely to command a maximum salary...whatever that will be.
