On leaving Israel, Jordan Farmar tells a reporter for Haaretz that he's unsure of his role with the Nets and expects to exercise his player option at the end of the 2011-12 season.
Specifically, Farmar says he's aware the Nets have committed to Deron Williams and he's looking for a more pivotal role.
Although he offers no direct quotes from Farmar, reporter Yoav Borowitz writes that Farmar was happy with his role last season under Avery Johnson. Farmar has two years left on his contract, but a player's option in 2012-13 at $4.25 million. Pundits have suggested the Nets will get offers for Farmar when free agency opens next month.
