Deadlines and Commitments - XLIII

It's all about overseas and the D-League right now, with prospects for the 2011-12 season fading daily. No talks are scheduled and court dates seem likely to replace game dates.

There will be some Nets-related basketball played overseas and in western Massachusetts. The Nets now have eight players and draft picks playing overseas: Deron Williams, Jordan Farmar, Sundiata Gaines, Sasha Vujacic, Mario West, Dan Gadzuric,Jordan Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic. We'll continue to follow both Williams, Farmar, Gaines Bogdanovic. And starting Saturday, we'll follow the Springfield Armor.

November 23 - Roster cut-down day in the D-League. Armor has to be at 10 players by close of business.

November 25 - Springfield Armor Opening Night. Armor vs. Maine Red Claws in Springfield.

November 30 - Jordan Williams makes his Polish League debut with Zastal vs.Sopot.

December 1 - ConEd hooks the Barclays Center up to its power grid on a permanent basis, which will quicken the pace of interior construction. Roof should be enclosed sometime in January.

December 10 - NBA All-Stars gather at the IZOD for a charity game sponsored by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul. No Nets invited yet, but only a few are left.

December 19 - Last day of Fall Semester for undergraduate courses at Providence College. MarShon Brooks completes his degree requirements.

December 30 - Efes Anadolu plays Besiktas in the Turkish League. Sasha Vujacic vs. D-Will.

January 7 - The absolute drop-dead date for cancellation of the 2011-12 season. If no agreement by this date, expect the entire 2011-12 season will be canceled.

February - Brooklyn Nets unveil their new colors and uniforms. If season has been canceled, expect that the New Jersey Nets will be put to rest at around the same time.

*If the Nets open their season, they have to decide by the night before whether to extend Stephen Graham's contract, at the veteran's minimum or $1.1 million.
