A Shattered Roster Flies Apart

As soon as Jordan Williams settles in Poland, the number of Nets players and draft picks overseas will again reach eight. Deron Williams (Turkey); Jordan Farmar (Israel); Sundiata Gaines (Georgia); Sasha Vujacic (Turkey); Dan Gadzuric (China); and Mario West (Italy) along with second round picks Jordan Williams (Poland) and Bojan Bogdanovic (Turkey) are all either playing or getting ready to. A ninth, Ben Uzoh, spent some time in Russia but returned.

Except for Deron Williams, Farmar and Gaines and the two picks, all the others are free agents. A couple of the others expected to be back, if only as camp invitees. And if the season is cancelled, Gaines too will be a free agent, his contract covering only this season. Gaines was the latest to play, scoring 16 points on 4-for-12 shooting and handing out five assists for B.C. Armia of Georgia Saturday night. Farmar may play Sunday for Maccabi Teal Aviv.
