Playing before a sellout crowd of 3,700 and an online audience of 25,000, Deron Williams played perhaps his worst game as a professional, scoring seven points (five in the final quarter when the game was out of reach) on 3-for-13 shooting. He handed out seven assists but turned the ball over six times in a game which left Besiktas out of the EuroCup.
Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress described D-Will as out of shape for the second straight game. Indeed, he never seemed to get his game in gear. Besiktas lost to Dexia Mons in Belgium, splitting their two-game set. By winning, Dexia Mons advances to the next round of the EuroCup competition and eliminates Besiktas, who now moves on to the Turkish Cup this weekend.
In an interview, he admitted, "I played like crap" and tweeted, "Just had a horrible game n a very important game. Euro Challenge is not where we wanted to be! But not much we can do about it but win it." EuroChallenge is the third level of continental play, below Euroleague and EuroCup.
