Mikhail Prokhorov is already a Russian media baron. He owns half of RBC, which publishes one of Russia's largest business papers and produces its leading business news channel. According to US intelligence, it also controls one-fifth of all the URL's on the Russian web, from a dating service to a computer news site.
There's also Snob magazine, where the above illustration appeared after he showed interest in the Nets. Now he is getting serious. According to the Financial Times, he's decided to buy up even more, including a popular liberal news website, an alternative newspaper and a cable TV station, perhaps because after his ouster from politics he disappeared from the airwaves. It shows he isn't backing down from the Kremlin.
