MarShon Brooks expressed his frustration to Fred Kerber Tuesday, putting it all in one simple sentence: "I just want to play."  It is that simple for the 22-year-old who's making good use of the lockout nonetheless, earning his degree in Social Sciences at Providence while playing some pick-up with the "fellas", this year's Friars.

"It’s getting frustrating," said Brooks. "There’s never been a point in my life where I didn’t play basketball. Honestly, it was a lifelong dream. I want to see what the hype is all about. I want to get out there and play".

There is the side benefit to the lockout, of course, getting his degree. He dropped out of Providence to classes short in April to focus on workouts. "I’m so proud," his mom, Darlyn Brooks, said.
