The latest images of the Barclays Center site show that the arena "Transit Connection" has now risen above ground. The entrance, the white structure in the center of the image above, is at one end of an underground passage that will funnel fans from nine subway lines and the LIRR's Atlantic Terminal to the plaza in front of the arena.  Its roof will be covered with greenery.

The Transit Connection, which is costing Forest City Ratner $50 million, must be completed prior to the arena opening under terms of the agreement between Forest City and New York State.  As of the latest construction reports, it's expected to be completed by March 27, six months prior to Opening Night.
