A revised analysis of construction progress at the Barclays Center shows the arena now only slightly (four days) ahead of schedule and the Transit Connection now slightly (also four days) behind schedule. The arena is now set to be complete on August 23 and open on September 28. The subway entrance, shown in the foreground above, is now scheduled for completion on April 1.

Although the analysis, prepared for arena bondholders, does not mention the effect of Hurricane Irene, construction officials have suggested it did slow things down. The arena and subway entrance had been a month or more ahead of schedule in the past. In recent weeks, neighborhood residents and critics have complained that increased activity at the site --in some cases, three shifts-- has caused problems with noise and congestion.

Meanwhile, the Nets have signed AEG, which runs Staples Center, Target Center and the Rose Garden, to help operate Barclays. The deal is multi-year and will provide "bench strengh", says Brett Yormark.
