Carmelo Anthony wants to bring one of his NBA barnstorming games to the New York area and already the Prudential Center has stepped up to say the Rock would be happy to host. Most of the benefit games sponsored by NBA superstars have been played in smaller venues on the outskirts of NBA cities.
"We can do it," Devils Arena Entertainment president Robert Sommer told the Star-Ledger. "And we would love to host Carmelo (Anthony)." The NBA has given its arena operators clearance to book events to replace NBA games. It's unlikely that the league would be happy to see its players in an NBA arena, but The Rock is now a lame-duck venue.
