The Nets have begun "listening" for a voice that can fill this void in Brooklyn and before that another one in Newark. In an atmosphere some say resembled an "American Idol" audition, 400 people showed up at a Brooklyn hall Friday night to give it their all. The audition started with each participant reading:
"Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Prudential Center, home of Nets Basketball presented by Vonage. Vonage Sounds Good. Tonight your Nets take on the Boston Celtics."
Those who got past that point got an armband and moved on. Ten finalists will be invited to the next audition at the Prudential Center in Newark.
