Al Iannazzone spoke to Richard Jefferson while the former Net was plying his still effective trade vs. the Knicks this week and learned RJ considered a return to New Jersey this summer but the Nets weren't interested.
"Having roots there, just respecting the organization and wanting to help bring them back to a level in which they had been accustomed to for most of the [last] decade, I explored that," Jefferson said. "That was something they really weren’t interested in."
Jefferson, who had his agent speak with the Nets front office, was re-signed by the Spurs to a nearly $40 million deal while the Nets went with Travis Outlaw, who's four years younger and got $35 million.
