Nets Guarantee Uzoh's Deal

Ben Uzoh got a round of congratulations at practice Wednesday when Avery Johnson announced the team has decided to guarantee his deal for the remainder of the season.  The Nets had until next Monday to make the decision but as Johnson said, "We just feel that right now at this point there are no better options that Ben at that spot".

Uzoh signed last summer after the Nets gave him a partial guarantee of $35,000. After making the team in preseason, his $474,000 rookie contract still wasn't guaranteed.  The 22-year-old went undrafted last June after a four year career at Tulsa.  As for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls, Troy Murphy (flu) and Jordan Farmar (knee) will be in uniform.

Johnson also hinted that might be a change in the starting lineup, but didn't detail what it might be. Speculation is that it could be Derrick Favors over Kris Humphries or Sasha Vujacic over Stephen Graham.  He also said the Nets would probably wait to sign players to 10-day contracts until after January 10 when other teams lop off their non-guaranteed deals
