As beat reporters exited "Media Day" at the PNY Center Friday, they looked up at a TV monitor and saw ESPN's Marc Stein report on a four-team trade developing somewhere else in the Nets practice facility.
As rumors flooded the internet and the airwaves, players posed for pictures and talked to media.
Optimism flowed and Devin Harris and Derrick Favors talked of team and personal goals. Avery Johnson spoke of the team's playoff chances, as constituted.
On Saturday, Harris, Favors and Quinton Ross were on the court practicing, dealing with the first of Johnson's two-a-days...and reports they'd be headed elsewhere Monday. Should the rumored deal go down, the three might set an NBA record by then: most Media Days, Individual Player, One Week. (Meanwhile, Al Iannazzone tweets that Troy Murphy will be held out the next two to three days because of a groin strain.)
