Knick fans can't get over their luck in signing Timofey Mozgov, a 24-year-old Russian center, to a three-year $9 million deal. Meanwhile, Nets fans are pretty ho-hum about the team signing Johan Petro, a 24-year-old French center, to a three-year $10 million deal...even though Petro has started 120 NBA games to Mozgov's none.
Doesn't seem to bother Petro. He's happy to be in New Jersey despite the cold and the Nets are happy to have him. Rod Thorn said at the time of his signing that the team had been interested in for a few years and Avery Johnson sees him getting minutes at the four and the five. Petro talks about his introduction to basketball in Guadaloupe and his desire to play for the French National Team at the Olympics in 2012.
