Travis Outlaw grew up in Starkville, MS (population 22,000), the son of the city clerk and assistant police chief. For all but a few months of his seven year NBA career, he played in Portland, a small city, by NBA standards. Now, his brother says he'll be going to a place "a little bit bigger than what he’s normally used to".
So his extended family has gone into action. "My wife and I and one of his aunties are going up there to locate him a place to stay." It's all about family for the 25-year-old, says John Outlaw. "He keeps me around. I always wanted to play (basketball) myself. When he made it, he brought me along with him. It was something he didn’t have to do, but he did."
