In a lengthy interview with Back Sports Page, Ian Eagle talks about everything from the travel he has to deal with to his mentor and hero (and fellow YES announcer Marv Albert) to his broadcast camp to what it's like on game day for him.
He talks as well about why it's better to be calling games for a winning team and in that vein, Eagle found it easy to pick out his greatest thrill: calling the Nets-Pacers playoff series back in 2002.
"You could just feel it inside the arena," Eagle tells Randy Zellea. "There were just so many Nets fans that had gone through so much, having to listen to their friends mock them for being fans of this team and this franchise. It was a culmination, a celebration."
