Barea Open to Nets Offer

The Nets have one point guard under contract next season, unless you count Terrence Williams who can play the PG as well as small (point) forward.  So who will back up Devin Harris?  The Nets are looking at draft prospects but Jose Barea wants them to know he's available...if Dallas declines a $1.8 million team option.

"If I could stay the rest of my career in Dallas I would, but if I were to switch teams I would like to play with the New Jersey Nets," Barea told El Neuvo Dia in his native Puerto Rico.  Barea spent two years playing for Avery Johnson in Dallas, backing up first Harris and then Jason Kidd. With the emergence of Rodrigue Beaubois, Barea's role could be limited.

Barea, a member of Puerto Rico's national team, averaged 7.6 ppg and 3.3 apg in 20 minutes a game for the Mavericks.
