Adrian Wojnarowski reports that, before heading over to Secaucus, Rod Thorn and Mikhail Prokhorov are meeting about a possible two-year extension for the Nets president. Thorn's current contract, like that of general manager Kiki Vandeweghe, expires this summer. Once Thorn's deal is worked out, he can accelerate the search for a new coach.
Meanwhile, Chad Ford gave a shout out to Thorn's No. 2 and the team's resident capologist, Bobby Marks. In his chat, Ford named Marks, who's worked under Thorn "forever", as one of "five guys who I think should be running their own teams". Marks' contract, unlike those of Thorn and Vandeweghe, expires next summer.
