The Nets are hoping Mikhail ("Luck Is Part of Any Business)" Prokhorov can get the overall #1 pick and John Wall for his new team next Tuesday, but if he fails...it won't be the end of the world. The team is looking at five other players to fill some of their many needs: Derrick Favors, Al-Farouq Aminu, Wesley Johnson, DeMarcus Cousins and Evan Turner. Rod Thorn told Dave D'Alessandro, "they’re all close -- you had to study and make a choice."
The Nets' Ben Couch is profiling the lottery possibilities by talking to their coaches. Perhaps in reverse order, he talks first to Georgia Tech's Paul Hewitt, who recruited and tutored Derrick Favors, the 6'9" power forward with the long wingspan but undeveloped game.
"He’s got as much potential as anybody that we’ve had come through here," says the man who coached Chris Bosh and Thaddeus Young.
