Waiting for 'Melo

Other than LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony is having the best playoffs of any individual player.  He's averaging 34.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, shooting 52.6% overall, 46.2% from deep and 93.8% from the foul line, which he's visiting eight times per game...but. His Nuggets are down 3-1 and there's not much hope for a resurgence either now or next season in Denver.

'Melo will be the big prize in next summer's free agency and so there are questions whether his time in Denver is done. Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post answers this way: "If you're New York Knicks executive Donnie Walsh, prospective Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov or rapper Jay-Z, and the goal is to make pro hoops relevant again in the Big Apple, the target to aim at should be Anthony."  After all, Anthony was born in Brooklyn.
