Nets Get Defensive, Shut Down Kings For Win No. 8

It was far from pretty. The Nets shot just 39 percent from the field, but against the Sacramento Kings, that was enough to get win No. 8 at the Izod Center on Wednesday night. The Nets led by four at halftime and went up by as many as 12 in the third quarter. A 7-0 run midway through the fourth gave them a 16-point lead, and they held on for a 14-point win. They had one of their best defensive efforts of the year, holding the Kings to just 35 percent shooting, the lowest mark by an opponent since Kiki Vandeweghe took over as coach. Brook Lopez led the way with 26 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Devin Harris finished with 24 points and nine assists, while Courtney Lee added 12 points and Kris Humphries grabbed nine boards.
