The Nets' stay in Newark could last beyond 2011-12 if Barclays Center isn't finished. The Real Deal, a real estate newsletter, quoted "sources" saying the Nets two-year lease "includes an option to automatically renew for another two years". Once construction begins in earnest in Brooklyn, it should take 28 months. While site clearance and infrastructure work continue, work on the arena awaits condemnation.
