Herb Turetzky is many things to the Nets: their official scorer for more than 1,000 games, their last link to the ABA glory days and now, it turns out, their Poet Laureate. The man in the Nets jacket behind the scorers' table has penned a book of poetry, a lot of it about the team and the league he's devoted so much of his life to.

"Over the years, I would write poems for special occasions," said Turetzky. "Some were about basketball and some were about family. After a while, I decided that maybe I should do something with them."  And so, Basketball and Life was born.  It's now out and available on Amazon.  As for Turetzky's future with the team, he notes that he was born in Brooklyn and "It would be a homecoming, the end of a 360-degree circle for me."
