Nets Threaten Lakers, But Still Lose Seventh Straight

The Nets came with a better effort than they did the first two times they played on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't enough against the Lakers, who picked up a 99-92 win at the Prudential Center.

The Nets scored the first seven points of the game, but trailed by six at the end of the first quarter and by 10 at halftime. They hung tough though and got to within one midway through the third quarter and took the lead in the fourth. The game was tied with 2 1/2 minutes to go, but the Lakers then went on an 8-0 run to pull out the win.

Neither team shot well from the field, but the Lakers made seven of their 16 attempts from 3-point range and outscored the Nets 24-16 at the line.

Brook Lopez led the Nets with 25 points, Kris Humphries had another double-double, and Devin Harris was just two rebounds shy of a triple-double. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 32 points.
