Cablevision is scrambling to find a new home for the Knicks Tuesday after asbestos fell from the ceiling attic at Madison Square Garden Monday night, rendering the World's Most Famous Arena its Most Toxic as well. The Knicks had to cancel a home game with the Magic scheduled for Tuesday night.
Reports circulated that Cablevision might move both teams temporarily to the Izod Center, which the Nets abandoned last April for the NBA's second newest arena, the Prudential Center. The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority said it would welcome the two teams, adding "we are in the business of booking events". As of Tuesday night, the NJSEA said it had not been contacted.
Cablevision has contacted the Prudential Center about hosting the Knicks' next game, vs. the Wizards, Friday night, but the Devils are already scheduled to play Cablevision's Rangers then.
