Derrick Favors has already tied one Nets' record --most offensive rebounds in a game by a rookie-- and promises to tie or break more. That is, if they keep him and don't send him packing in a trade for Carmelo Anthony. John Schuhmann of NBA.com takes a look at what the Nets got as their reward for being 12-70 last season.
So far, he leads all rookies and ranks 10th in the league in rebounds per minute ...and that includes Blake Griffin who the Nets and Favors face Monday in L.A. He still hasn't started. Each of the other top five picks in this year's draft have started at least three games but Avery Johnson is resisting that temptation...at least for now. He'll play a lot Saturday though, says Johnson. With Dwight Howard, the Nets will need as much help as they can get.
