Is Harris Tough Enough?

In his Sunday column, Mitch Lawrence writes about the Nets point guard position...whether the Nets ultimately make a move for Carmelo Anthony or not.

Lawrence writes that if the Nets had sent Harris to the Bobcats in the four-team 'Melo deal, the Nets would have been comfortable with Jordan Farmar at the point, but only for a while. "Then, obviously, we'd need to upgrade the position," he quotes one "Nets voice" as saying.

As for the current situation, there's divided opinion on Harris, he writes. Some think returning to Avery Johnson's system (and care) will elevate Harris to being one of the better NBA point guards. Others dispute that, citing Harris' history of nagging injuries "and he's not the toughest kid around, mentally," according to an Eastern Conference scout.
