National hoops writers are dumping their projections on to the internet and into newspaper columns. For the most part, they're predictable regarding the Nets, with none of the latest batch predicting playoffs for New Jersey, but offering hope if Carmelo Anthony joins the team.
Peter Vecsey of the Post has the Nets finishing just out of the playoffs at ninth in the East; Mitch Lawrence of the Daily News has them just above the Raptors in the Atlantic and Ken Berger of CBS Sports predicts a dead last finish, with fewer than 30 wins, in both the division and conference.
