A new animation of what Barclays Center will look like on completion in 2012 has been released by SHoP, one of the architects for the arena. The animation shows the arena exterior from street level along both Flatbush and Atlantic avenues in Brooklyn as well as a view from the subway entrance under construction in front of the arena.
The animation has been shown publicly to Brooklyn residents and has recently been posted to the Barclays Center website. The arena is owned 55% by Bruce Ratner and his partners and 45% by Mikhail Prokhorov's Onexim Group. Some residents complained --and the architects admitted-- the street views show little traffic on the heavily traveled thoroughfares, Brooklyn's two busiest, which meet at the arena site.
