The Nets will be jet-lagged. That's a guarantee. The Knicks will be energized following their last-second win over the Wizards Sunday night, their first this preseason against an NBA team. With only two preseason games left --the other is vs. the Celtics in Boston Wednesday-- expect the Nets to try to get a good read on their rotation. Joe Smith is expected to get his second straight start at power forward. The game will be broadcast on MSG.
Both teams have struggled on offense as they adjust to revised rosters...both have 12 new players. The Nets are shooting only 42.8% from the floor in preseason (but 39.5% from deep). The Knicks are shooting an even more woeful 40.3% (and only 30.8% from deep). On defense, the Nets are among the league leaders in opponent field goal percentage, the Knicks in the middle of the pack. The Knicks' biggest problem is rebounding. They're averaging 15.8 fewer rebounds than their opponents, by far the worst in the league. Miss David Lee much?
