In comments to blogger Norman Oder, the Empire State Development Corp. has added its voice to those of Bruce Ratner and Brett Yormark regarding the timetable for completion of Barclays Center...as well as transportation improvements in the area. The ESDC, a state agency, has overall responsibility for arena construction. Ratner is the developer.
"With respect to the arena, transit improvements and Carlton Avenue Bridge, the schedule remains unchanged. Construction is expected to be completed in advance of the 2012 Basketball Season," an ESDC spokesman wrote Oder, who writes Atlantic Yards Report.
Another arena critic has posted a time-lapse video of the demolition of the last two buildings at the site.
