Heart Breaker

The Nets did everything right but win. They came back from being down by 15, the only time they did that this season. They shot 53% from downtown, the only time they did that. They out-rebounded the Hornets, the first time they did that in 24 games. They made all but one of their free throws. But at the buzzer, just as they have before, they lost. With the Nets up by one and 7.6 seconds left, Chris Paul drove the lane, hit a layup, got fouled by Jarvis Hayes, and made the free throw to put the Hornets up by two. Then as Devin Harris raced down the court, Yi Jianlian was called for an offensive foul as he tried to clear a path for him. David West made two free throws with 2.4 left to seal it. Courtney Lee, who played well on both ends of the court, finished with a career high of 28 and Keyon Dooling had a season high of 21. Chris Paul finished with 11 points and 18 assists while David West had 32 and 10.
