In articles this week, two architecture critics stand on opposite sides of the debate on whether Bruce Ratner has recovered from his firing of "starchitect" Frank Gehry earlier this year. As part of a growing chorus, Slate's Witold Rybczynski thinks the new design may be a better idea than Gehry's while Julie Iovine of Architect's Newspaper calls the change a "bait and switch" and says it's about community not design.
