J.R. Rider is 38 years old and hasn't played in the NBA since 2001-02. Now, he's planning a comeback and according to his agent, the Nets are considering inviting Rider to preseason camp. Rider has an arrest record for drug use, assault and other crimes. He also was fined and suspended --mostly by then deputy commissioner Rod Thorn-- for offenses ranging from being late for practice to spitting at fans.
