After losing in two lower courts, critics have asked New York's highest court to hear an appeal on their claim that the state mischaracterized property needed for Barclays Center as blighted. The Court of Appeals has agreed to hear the critics' other case, on eminent domain, but doesn't have to take the blight case. Critics hope to delay ground breaking beyond Dec. 31--the deadline for securing tax-exempt financing.
