Arturo Guerrero, Team Mexico's coach, said Tuesday that he'll wait til the last minute to see if Eduardo Najera can play in the FIBA Americas Cup at month's end, but it's becoming less likely. Physically, Najera has been cleared, said the coach, but he has yet to receive the permission from the Nets. Then there's the cost of short-term insurance, which could cost Team Mexico $1.5 million pesos, about $115,000.
