HoopsWorld reports Wednesday that there has been "some discussion" about "the real possibility" that Tony Battie will be bought out by the Nets. Citing "Nets sources", HoopsWorld said unless Battie offered a "significant discount", it's unlikely he would be bought out before camp opened. The Nets supposedly want Battie "in camp as a mentor". Battie is in the last year of his contract, earning $6.6 million.
